The Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC, PEE-ock) is a bunker under construction underneath the site of the East Wing of the White House complex. Initially built under the original East Wing during World War II, the PEOC served as a secure shelter and communications center for the president of the United States and others in case of emergency. The PEOC was demolished in 2025 along with the rest of the original East Wing for the construction of a new East Wing containing a state ballroom.
