Lorena Bobbitt’s roadside field, Maplewood Drive

On June 23, 1993, Lorena Bobbitt cut off her husband John Wayne Bobbitt’s penis at their home in Manassas, drove off with it, and threw it out of her car window into a roadside field on Maplewood Drive. Police found it after a search, and surgeons reattached it. Her trial, where she said he had raped her that night, ended in January 1994 with a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity. The pin marks Maplewood Drive; the exact spot in the field isn’t recorded.
